Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has shared a deeply emotional tribute following the sudden death of his close friend and colleague, actress Allwell Ademola.
Allwell, aged 43, reportedly passed away after suffering a heart attack at her home. She was rushed to the hospital but could not be revived. The news has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with tributes pouring in from fellow actors, producers, and fans.
In a raw and tearful post shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday, Rotimi described the past three days as filled with “endless tears.” He admitted the pain has left him too weak to respond to the flood of calls, messages, and voice notes he has received.
“72 hours of endless tears still can’t bring back my Shuga boo,” he wrote. “To everyone who has genuinely reached out… I see them all. I truly do. I’m just too weak right now to read, listen, respond, or even find the words.”
Rotimi described Allwell with deep affection, calling her “Shuga boo,” “Ibiayo,” and “Eniobanke.” He acknowledged that while “all is not well at the moment,” he is determined to stay strong for their shared family, friends, fans, and especially his children, who will need his strength to navigate the loss.
“Please, when you see me, don’t try to console me because I will break down. I still can’t say farewell. Shuga boo.”
The actor’s vulnerable message highlights the close bond he shared with Allwell and the profound grief many in Nollywood are feeling. Allwell Ademola was known for her roles in various Yoruba films and her warm personality off-screen.
As the industry continues to mourn, many are calling for greater awareness around heart health and the pressures actors face. Rotimi’s words serve as a reminder of the human side behind the glamour of Nollywood.
Our thoughts are with Rotimi Salami, Allwell Ademola’s family, and everyone touched by her life and work. Rest in peace, Shuga boo.
